Prayer: Why It Matters

‘And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.’ — 2 Chronicles 16:5

We serve an all knowing God. Our lives are an open book in His omnipresent sight — he already knows the beginning and the end. So why is prayer so important?

As we live our lives — going about the day to day ‘business’ of just being alive, we face opportunities to walk in his presence — or not.

We can simply weather our storms or choose to turn our trials and tribulations into spiritual opportunities whereby we can grow in faith, in spiritual comprehension, in love. It’s our choice. One thing is certain though, we have an opportunity to change — or not.  To learn or to go on with only our base of experiences for guidance.

There are at least two — and sometimes significantly more — possible outcomes for each and every challenge we face. Asking God for guidance, assistance, understanding, wisdom and even different outcomes are absolutely within our grasp. We have only to ask for intervention in order to begin.

Prayer changes things.
